NEW YORK - "Good Morning America" co-anchor Robin Roberts is going on medical leave earlier than planned.
Her last day was originally scheduled for Friday.
However, "Good Morning America" announced Thursday that Robin will fly home to Mississippi after the show to be with her sick mother. She is still scheduled to begin her bone marrow transplant next week.
Roberts told viewers in July she was battling MDS, a blood and bone marrow disease known as preleukemia. Her bone marrow donor is her sister, Sally.
