'Dancing with the Stars' switches up the couples, as Julianne Hough returns with elimination looming

Sounding like a broken record: Get ready for more twists on “Dancing with the Stars” including a partner switch-up and a former dancer returning to judge.

So this is the week the show has been teasing us about since season 18 started. Viewers dissatisfied with the pro/star pairings the show came up with, could rewrite history. Fans tweeted #dwts with a star name and a pro name, and whichever pair got the highest number of tweets would become a new partner.

So, this week, Amy Purdy will not be dancing with Derek and Meryl Davis will not be dancing with Maks.

Who will they be partnered with? DWTS won’t tell us until the show airs, so we all find out together when the show airs.

But I have sniffed out that comedian Drew Carey will dance a cha cha with [WHO KNOWS?], while Nickelodeon star James Maslow and [FILL IN THE BLANK] will perform a tango. Singer Cody Simpson and [NO CLUE] have a foxtrot, then reality star NeNe Lakes and [UMM…] have a jazz.

Ugh, the mystery. Actress Candace Cameron is teasing us.

Ice dancer Charlie White is anxious about his mysterious, new partner.

Paralympic snowboarder Amy Purdy is excited about her switch-up.

Actress Danica McKellar is at least a little more forthcoming.

Former professional dancer Julianne Hough joins the judges table to… judge. Will she insult Mark again? Lord, I hope so.

Also, another dancer gets eliminated. I predict NeNe. She did improve last week, but she still trails the others, either in terms of talent or performance. Actor Billy Dee Williams stepped down last week.

See who winds up getting paired with whom Monday night at 8:00 on ABC. Until then, James will tease us.

Curse you, James!
