As the first elimination looms, the stars are weighing in about the dances they will perform for the second week of the 18th season of "Dancing with the Stars."
Stealing my thunder, the show announced which dances the stars would be performing at the end of the season premiere. It turns out, the dances were the ones that the stars said they were most looking forward to learning before the season began.
One cha cha will be performed Monday night, by swimmer Diana Nyad and Henry.
Candace Cameron and Mark will perform the only rumba of the night.
Two couples are working on a salsa, including hockey star Sean Avery and Karina, as well as Nickelodeon star James Maslow and Peta.
Sean may be praying for help, but James seems far less worried.
Doing the salsa today. ;) get it? http://t.co/zaSpfkziOQ— James Maslow (@jamesmaslow) March 23, 2014
Two couples will perform the swing: ice dancer Meryl Davis and Maks; and Paralympic snowboarder Amy Purdy and Derek. The swing is a pretty high-paced dance and I have high expectations from the stars.
Of all the dances Monday night, I'm most looking forward to the jive. It's a frenetic and physically demanding dance, which may be a lot to ask of comedian Drew Carey and reality star NeNe Leakes.
Three couples are set to perform the tango, including singer Cody Simpson and Witney; ice dancer Charlie White and Sharna; and actor Billy Dee Williams and Emma.
Almost ready to show off our tango routine! Something something how many it takes to tango hashtag… http://t.co/57CCtdnDKx— Charlie White (@CharlieaWhite) March 22, 2014
Charlie doesn't sound worried, but Billy Dee seems even more relaxed.
Although Billy Dee got the lowest score last week, I expect his likeability factor will get him enough votes to survive, and that Diana will be first eliminated because she simply does not have the fan base.
The competition continues Monday night at 8:00 on ABC.
