Special screenings of Prince's 'Purple Rain'

Special screenings of Prince's Oscar and Grammy award-winning film 'Purple Rain' will be held in Northeast Ohio starting Saturday and runs through April 28, Carmike Cinemas reported on Friday. 

Locally, the 1984 film will be shown at the Solon 16 theater in Solon and at the Carmike 12 theater in Findlay. 

newsnet5.com was able to gather the show dates and times at the Solon theater. According to the theater, Purple Rain will be shown:

  • Saturday - 4 p.m., 7 p.m., 9:30 p.m.
  • Sunday & Monday - 1 p.m., 4 p.m., 7 p.m.
  • Tuesday-Thursday - 4 p.m., 7 p.m.

A spokesperson from Solon 16 said tickets for the film will go on sale soon after the theater receives the materials it needs to show the film.

Prince, widely acclaimed as one of the most inventive and influential musicians of his era with hits including "Little Red Corvette," ''Let's Go Crazy" and "When Doves Cry," was found dead at his home on Thursday in suburban Minneapolis, according to his publicist. He was 57.
