HERSHEY, Pa. - A pair of Dave Matthews fans received the ultimate reward for being good Samaritans on Saturday as they headed to one of his band's concerts in Hershey, Pa.
According to Philly.com , Emily Kraus and her boyfriend were on their way to see Matthews and his band when they noticed a bicyclist stranded on the side of the road. The pair decided to pull off to the side of the road and help.
And guess who the stranded bicyclist was? None other than Matthews himself, according to Philly.com.
Matthews was taking a short bike ride when one of his tires popped, according to Kraus' account. The famed singer did not have his cell phone on him to call for help. Kraus and boyfriend ended up giving him a ride to the show.
Philly.com reported Matthews related the story on stage. Beyond getting to brush shoulders with one of their favorite singers, Kraus and her boyfriend were bought dinner, brought backstage and given front row seats to the concert by Matthews, CNN reports.
"We didn't know how to make conversation with him, in fact," Kraus said in an interview with CNN. "He had just been in Cincinnati. It was surreal. We couldn't believe it."
Matthews had performed with O.A.R. in Cincinnati on Friday, July 12.
