CLEVELAND - The Love Boat's run has come to an end.
The 42-year-old cruise ship that appeared in the iconic 1970s TV show has made its final run to a shipyard in Turkey where it will be stripped for its parts, ABC news reported.
The show ran for nine seasons from 1977-1986 on ABC. Each week passengers and crew enjoyed romance and sea adventures.
"When I think of all the big giant stars that came on our show that aren't here anymore, it just touches my heart," Gavin Macleod, who play Capt. Merrill Stubing, said.
The one-hour sitcom was usually set aboard a Princess Cruise ship called the Pacific Princess.
