99.5 WGAR: Surprises, great performances and 'country love' highlight CMA Awards in Nashville

NASHVILLE - Hey everybody! Brian and LeeAnn here with some thoughts on tonight's amazing CMA Award show from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville...

First off, Carrie and Brad were better than ever. That's probably because this is the sixth year in a row they've hosted together. Their writing was also top notch. Carrie looked fantastic too! Nice hat, Brad!

Towards the beginning of the show it was great to see Luke and Zac Brown put aside any differences and give us a great big ole hug. Awwww. That's Country Love for ya!

So happy for Kacey Musgraves winning Best New Artist! That was quite a surprise. Looked like Florida Georgia Line's night up to that point. We think she's incredibly talented! Way to go, Kacey!

Of the performances, while all were great, snaps to Carrie Underwood's performance of her greatest hits. She is absolutely incredible!

George Strait and Alan Jackson's tribute to George Jones was especially touching. RIP, Possum.

The biggest surprise, of course, was George Strait winning Entertainer of the Year. He really seemed surprised by the win. As were we! Wow! We couldn't be happier for him!

A great night and we hoped you enjoyed it as much as we did. We can't wait for next year!

See ya!
