When you're the world's highest paid athlete, buying a multimillion dollar home is a great gift to yourself for your birthday.Tiger Woods plunked down $40 million for a waterfront estate on Florida's Jupiter Island just as he was turning 30.The compound has just about everything, including four houses, and two boat docks, but if Woods wants to golf, he'll have to head out to the Jupiter Island Golf Club.Trouble is, they might not want Woods as a member. The London Telegraph is reporting that the club is low key and doesn't like to get much attention. Probably inviting someone who earned almost $90 million in 2004 would capture some attention.
Meanwhile, The Palm Beach Post reported that Woods may be tearing down the 13-year-old main house that sits on the Island's South Beach Road.Rebuilding would add even more bucks to the enormous worth of the 10-acre estate.Maybe he can build himself his own course, too.And speaking of houses, Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey have put the multi-million dollar home featured in the MTV hit "Newlyweds" series up for sale. The Calabasas, Calif., home has a smaller price tag than Woods' at $3.75 million, but if you have the money, you could sit in the same room where Simpson uttered her famous food choice line: Is Chicken of the Sea tuna or chicken?People magazine reported that Simpson moved into a new $3 million Beverly Hills home after living with her parents after she and Lachey split in November.Lachey is reportedly still in residence in the "Newlyweds" house until it is sold.
Madonna fans can stock their wine cellars with new Madonna "Confessions on a Dance Floor" Cabernet or Pino Grigio. The Material Girl has teamed up with Celebrity Cellars to produce a line of wine.If you want to remain alcohol free, there's a nonalcoholic entry called UnWine.Prices for the real stuff are about $40, while the Unwine is cheaper.Check it out at celebritycellars.com.Michelle Solomon's gossip column, Celebrity Chatter, appears each Monday. Punky pop star Pink and motocross racer Carey Hart were wed this weekend and the two lovebirds say they couldn't be happier.Next time you see Hart, check out his ring finger. He's promised his devotion by tattooing Pink's name there. Will it say Pink or will it be her real name, Alecia Moore? The project should be easy. Hart owns Hart and Huntington Tattoo shop at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.Material Girl Merlot
