SANDUSKY, Ohio -- It's a new season at Cedar Point Amusement Park, but it sounds like the same old story.
On the first day of the season, the Top Thrill Dragster has already experienced problems, NewsChannel5 reported. The 42-story ride had to be shut down several times Saturday for various reasons, park officials said. Top Thrill Dragster spent much of last season closed, as well. Last week, Cedar Point told NewsChannel5 that it put the coaster and other rides through vigorous test runs before Saturday's opening. The coaster is billed as the world's tallest and fastest. Most of its technical problems have been associated with its hydraulic-launch system that propels riders at 120 mph up a 420-foot track. If you would like to check on the status of the ride, call the park's information line at 1-419-627-2350 or visit www.cedarpoint.com.
