Ohio Home Makeover Couple Weds

An Ohio couple who met while helping a family featured on "Extreme Home Makeover" tied the knot Friday night.

This fall the nation will see the Akers family of West Chester, Ohio, as they are presented a brand new house designed for daughters Brooke and Faith, NewsChannel5 partner WCPO reported.

However, they won't see the story of Beth Chapman and Ashley Chance who got married Friday night after they met trying to help before the show ever called.

They met because of the Akers family and the two got married one day after the big Reveal.

Beth Chapman, now Beth Chance, remembered meeting Brooke Akers in her first-grade class.

"I saw her wheel into my room and automatically fell in love with her," said Beth, "and noticed at school she was independent and I had her try things and I went to her house and she sat there."

She said at that moment, she knew she had to do something.

"A group of teachers and I came together and said, 'Hey, Extreme Home Makeover, let's shoot for the show!,' and we put the application together and then we didn't hear anything, so we have the letters together so let's send them out to businesse," said Beth.

They set up a non-profit group and wound up meeting Ashley Chance, a builder who had called to help.

"He heard my story," said Beth. "Heard what we were doing and saw it in the paper and called me and said, 'Hey, I might be interested in helping you,' and got a date out of it."

"It kind of stole my heart and I thought that's someone I want for my wife, to be honest with you, I did say that," said Ashley.

"She says that I helped her find a guy, because he was at the Akers Angels benefit for our family," said Brooke Askers, who is now 7-years-old and was the flower girl at their wedding.

"And he was there and they fell in love in four months and they got engaged," said Brooke. "And now they're married and now she's Mrs. Chance instead of Miss Chapman."

So the Akers have a new home and the Chances are off to Antigua for their honeymoon.
