Rapper Shows In Court After Missing Initial Appearance

CLEVELAND -- A rapper appeared in court Wednesday afternoon to face charges accusing him of bringing a loaded gun through a security checkpoint at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. Jasiel Robinson's bond was revoked and doubled by the presiding Judge Michael Ryan after the rapper, also known as Yung Joc, after he failed to show up for his initial court appearance on Wednesday morning.Robinson, 27, was freed Monday on $50,000 bond after he was formally charged with the felony.He was arrested early Sunday morning while going through a security checkpoint on his way to a Delta flight. Robinson's lawyer said his client made every effort to be in court in time for his 9 a.m. hearing, but did not show up at the Justice Center until about 3:30 p.m.The judge chided Robinson for missing his court appearance and set another court date for Jan. 25.The judge said Robinson is allowed to travel for work, but is not allowed to own or posess a handgun.Robinson is a Grammy Award-nominated American rapper from Georgia. He is best known for his first single, "It's Goin' Down."
