SANDUSKY, Ohio -- Cedar Point's latest ride, the Maverick, will debut this weekend.

The coaster's debut was delayed when the park opened its season on May 12 because it was determined that three sections of the track needed to be replaced.

The new sections were installed earlier this week.

The park is going to distribute Maverick T-shirts to the first 3,000 riders on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

The Maverick reaches 70 mph and then drops 105 feet to a 95-degree angle. The Maverick will then stay close to the ground.

The planning, building and designing have been in the works for more than three years.
