Cleveland Student Says Principal Body Slammed Her

School Administrators Looking Into Allegations

UPDATED: 11:37 am EDT September 27, 2005

Cleveland Municipal Schools administrators are looking into allegations that Glenville High School's principal assaulted a female student.

Tiera Eggleston said a group of girls wanted to fight her when her principal, Anthony Riccio, stepped in, NewsChannel5 reported.

The ninth-grader described an altercation with Riccio that sounds more like a wrestling match than a disciplinary move, the station reported.

"We threw up our guards and a bunch of people got in between us saying you all are not about to fight, then a second later, I was up in the air getting slammed. When I looked up, it was my principal," Eggleston said.

"Then he started slinging me some more. Then he had my shirt and my arms. Then he slung me against the wall."

A spokesman for Cleveland schools said they are investigating this alleged incident.

The student's mother has filed a criminal report with Cleveland police.
