MEDINA COUNTY, Ohio -- Parents in a Medina County school district want to find out who is responsible for snatching dozens of levy campaign signs. More than 100 signs are missing, and at $6 a piece, its money the struggling Buckeye School District can't afford to lose, reported NewsChannel5.The signs began disappearing over the weekend, as the thieves took them right out of people's front yards.Authorities are saying this isn't just a case of mischievous kids, either. Some witnesses say they saw a pickup truck containing a group of adults taking the signs. The signs urge voters to pass a $4 million levy on next week's ballot.Concerned parents have been campaigning hard for the levy, saying that the schools desperately need the money.Without the levy, a school will be forced to close and all extracurriculars, including all sports, will be eliminated. The levy has failed two times in the past, but members of Citizens for Good Schools say that this time, it has a good chance of passing.Anyone with information about who is taking the signs could get a reward of up to $500.The Buckeye School District is one of more than 40 northeast Ohio districts with levies on next Tuesday's ballot.
