Bowling Green Student Arrested After Hit List, Gun Found

List Included Names Of 5 Students

UPDATED: 8:21 am EST February 2, 2005

A Bowling Green State University student was arrested this week after police said he had a hit list of students.

Anderson Hall
Brent Arnold, 22, is expected to be charged with aggravated menacing. Investigators said that he had a gun, ammunition and a hit list of people he planned to take out, WTVG-TV in Toledo reported.

The hit list included the names of five students living in the same residence hall, police said.

One student who didn't want to be identified said he was No. 1 on the hit list. He said his kill date was Tuesday and he said he's still scared.

"Basically it was, 'to do', then there was a list of, 'kill', 'name', and then a date, which was either a kill date or a deadline. We weren't actually sure at the moment," the student said.

Police made the discovery Saturday at the Harshman-Anderson residence hall.

Another student claimed Arnold posted the names on his message board. After news of the list surfaced, the alleged victims showed their frustration by posting numbers on their doors, identifying their place on the list.

Police said Arnold is suffering from depression, and he's being watched at an area hospital.
