UPDATED: 2:25 pm EDT August 20, 2008

A spokeswoman for Case Western Reserve University said the personal information of 1,160 undergraduates was inadvertently disclosed on the school's Web site.

Laura Massie said the names and Social Security numbers were disclosed on the site but that there is no evidence the personal data has been misused.

Massie said if the information is compromised, CWRU will provide students with coverage for identity theft protection.

Massie said officials don't know how long the information was posted but it was removed as soon as it was discovered.
