CLEVELAND -- This is the second year that high school graduations throughout the state will be impacted by the Ohio Graduation Test.Last year, thousands of high school seniors couldn't graduate because they didn't pass the test, including hundreds of seniors in Cleveland.Cleveland schools' chief academic officer said that this years figures are preliminary and not perfect, but it look like there has been significant improvement since last year. That means that more high school seniors in Cleveland will be graduating with their class this year."Based on preliminary data we have, more than 62 percent have met all of our testing requirements. We expect that number to go even higher as we look at alternative pathways that all schools look at," said Eric Gordon. There are still 835 seniors that haven't passed at least one part of the test. Some of them may get to graduate if they are within 10 points of passage and meet certain other criteria. The school district is already working with the rest to get them ready to take the test again this summer.
