CLEVELAND - Monday morning's wintry mess made the commute difficult for drivers across the area. Rain, freezing rain and snow hampered travels.
"This morning was dicey because we had temperature changes," said Lori Cook, Triple A safety advisor.
There were reports of accidents and drivers sliding off area roads.
"We had temperatures hovering around freezing, some roads were wet, some icy and some a little snowy," said Cook.
At the Triple A call center, calls for help were up about 20 percent Monday morning.
At Vitalone Services in Willoughby, business has been brisk the past several days. They specialize in towing and auto repair.
"It's been crazy, calls have doubled, " said Mario Vitalone.
Both Cook and Vitalone said that drivers should slow down, allow extra time and space between cars and practice patience this winter.
