BAINBRIDGE TOWNSHIP - About 17,000 customers in Cuyahoga and Geauga counties remained without power Friday morning after lake effect snow downed trees and wires.
FirstEnergy reported more than 45,000 outages on Thursday.
Crews hope to have power restored to most people by midnight Friday, but spokesman Mark Durbin said that some power could be out until noon Saturday.
NewsChannel5’s Kristin Byrne said Cleveland Heights had 800 hazardous situations to handle during the heavy snowfall Thursday, mostly downed wires.
She said a lot of trees have been cleaned up and removed from roadways. However, Yellow Stone Road was still closed.
FirstEnergy said you can report outages through its app available for iPhones and Android phones using the search term "FirstEnergy."
