CLEVELAND - After nearly one of the top 10 warmest Decembers on record in Cleveland, 2013 is getting off to a very chilly start.
We had widespread single-digit temperatures Wednesday morning across northern Ohio, highlighted by Wooster's 1 degree reading.
Cleveland bottomed out at 11 degrees, the coldest temperature in the city since Jan. 20, 2012, when we hit 6 degrees.
Other cold spots Wednesday morning included:
Wooster: 6 degrees
Lorain/Elyria: 6 degrees
Mansfield: 6 degrees
Akron/Canton: 10 degrees
Cleveland: 11 degrees
Ashtabula: 21 degrees (helped by cloud cover)
We should stay very cold through much of the week before a slight warm-up comes this weekend. Highs this coming weekend are expected to be back in the 30s.
