PENINSULA, Ohio - Mother Nature has been kind lately to Boston Mills and Brandywine ski resorts, dropping some much needed snow to attract outdoor enthusiasts.

Those at the slopes are excited the cold temperatures are here to stay for several weeks. New Year's Day on the snowy hills was the perfect way for many families to kick off 2013.

"It's a great day out here in the cold and the snow. Skiing was pretty good, a little icy in certain areas, but overall we had a great time."

No worries if it doesn't snow. As long as temperatures remain in the 20s, the ski resorts can fire up the snow machines and make their own snow to fill the patches and keep skiers, snowboarders and extreme snow tubers happy.

If you're unsure skiing is for you, for $79 you can get a ski rental, one-hour lesson and day pass to try it out.
