NEW PHILADELPHIA, Ohio - The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for parts of Tuscarawas County Friday evening.

In Tuscarawas County, the New Philadelphia Police Department said most residents lost power and streetlights were out. At about 7:30 p.m. power was restored, police said.

The Newcomerstown Fire Department told NewsChannel5 said trees were knocked down all over Grove Street.

Police in Dover did not received any damage reports, but set off its tornado sirens because of the warnings. NewsChannel5 viewer Mark S. in Dover said they experienced high winds and rain.
