April 2011 could be Cleveland's wettest on record

CLEVELAND - Cleveland may have the wettest April on record by Wednesday.

As of Tuesday, Cleveland had the second wettest April on record.  But showers and thunderstorms are in the forecast with heavy rain likely for the next two days.

Here is a list of the top 10 wettest Aprils in Cleveland:

1) 6.61" in 1961
2) 6.58" in 2011
3) 6.07" in 1998
4) 5.90" in 1950
5) 5.78" in 1957
6) 5.57" in 2005
7) 5.38" in 1873
8) 5.36" in 1954
9) 5.26" in 1929
10) 5.01" in 1920

Cincinnati might end up with the wettest month in history!  January 1937 currently holds the record, with a 13.67" in the rain gauge.  So far this April, 11.91" has fallen.
