GIRARD, Ohio - A number of eyewitnesses saw what looked very much like a tornado near Youngstown in southern Trumbull County Sunday afternoon at about 2:35 p.m.
Video sent in by a NewsChannel5 viewer shows what looks like a funnel cloud touching down behind homes in a neighborhood.
The National Weather Service has not yet confirmed whether it was a tornado. They will do that Monday afternoon when they survey damage to see if there was twisting, according to Cleveland National Weather Service Meteorlogist Jim Kosarik.
Eyewitnesses called in describing a tornado from multiple places in Girard, including Tod Park.
Kosarik said it appears most of the damage was a result of downed trees and there were not injuries.
