AKRON, Ohio - The American Red Cross has been watching the forecasts all week. So, it mobilized resources from northeast Ohio to help as Hurricane Earl pounds the East Coast and other storms threaten.
The relief organization mobilized volunteers, supplies and resources to the Mid-Atlantic states.
The Red Cross of Summit and Portage counties sent its Emergency Response Vehicle as well as two volunteers to Massachusetts this week. Several other disaster relief volunteers have been put on alert.
The agency says it wanted to be ready just in case one of the storms made landfall.
