EASTLAKE, Ohio - The Chagrin River is overflowing its banks in Eastlake Tuesday morning.

Heavy rain has caused the river to flood at the Eastlake Marina.

According to Sgt. Hauser of the Eastlake police, some of the worst area is along Lakeshore at Erie Road, and the West Island area is under water.

The National Weather Service is reporting moderate flooding along the Chagrin River in Willoughby.

The river was at more than 13.79 feet at 9 a.m. Flood stage is 11 feet. The record is 18 feet.

A NewsChannel5 viewer tweeted a picture of the Chagrin River and said “I take my dogs and nephews swimming here! Usually 6 inches deep.”

Another viewer, Christina Wilson of Lakewood, captured a series of photos showing two docks breaking away and one boat floating into Lake Erie.

"It all happened so fast," she said.
