10:00 pm Update: Barely a cloud in the sky. Temperatures will stay warm all evening long...in the 70s. Lows tonight will drop back into the upper 50s and lower 60s. You can look forward to hazy sunshine on Friday. Thanks to high pressure moving east of the state and a southwest breeze, high temperatures should bump up into the lower 90s. Hot!
Latest computer forecasts are less optimistic that Isaac's rains will blast through Northern Ohio this weekend. Current thinking is much of Isaac stays south of the area through Monday. We'll see a few more clouds mixing with sun for Saturday. High temperatures should climb back into the middle 80s. We've even got a great chance of staying dry on Sunday, with a partly to mostly cloudy sky and temperatures near 80.
A few of Isaac's thundershowers should affect the region Monday into Tuesday. Right now, it does not look like a washout for your Labor Day! Highs will once again reach up to near 80 on Monday!
4:00 pm Update: Skies are sunny except for a few contrails from the Blue Angels jets over Downtown Cleveland. We'll stay dry through the evening with temperatures hovering in the 70s. Skies will remain mostly clear overnight with lows dropping back to between 55 & 60 degrees.
1:05 p.m. Update: Temperatures are already warmer than yesterday's high with middle 70s checking in. We will get into the lower 80s before we are finished warming today.
9:51 a.m. Update: We have warmed out of the 40s and 50s now and are well on our way to the 70s by noon. Expect bright sunshine and light south winds to push us into the 80s for afternoon highs. As you make afternoon plans, be sure to pack the sunscreen, little to no cloud cover expected today.
________________
Our warming trend will continue through the rest of the work week as Isaac's heads out way for the weekend. Before Isaac get's here, keep the sunscreen handy! Bright sunshine and light south winds will bring a return to Summer-like weather today and tomorrow. Lower to middle 80s are likely this afternoon followed by an even warmer day Friday. Some areas Friday afternoon will soar into the 90s.
The heat won't last though, Isaac's remnants will make sure of that. Throughout Saturday, clouds will push into northeast Ohio. Those clouds will lead to rain likely Saturday afternoon and into Sunday. There will be a band of steady rain that sets up during the weekend. Forecast models are still inconsistent on the location of that band but that is where 1-3" of rain could fall. Plan for the rain this weekend but don't plan for a washout. Most of your Saturday will be dry.
