11:15 pm Update: A warm front will slide northeast through the area by Thursday morning's rush hour. Isolated storms are possible late tonight early Thursday along the front. Heat and humidity will return behind the front. Highs Thursday afternoon will climb back into the middle 90s with heat index values above 100 degrees. Heat exhaustion and/or heat stroke are real possibilities for those working outside for an extended period of time. A cold front approaches the area from the northwest by late afternoon. Ahead of the front, storms will fire up during the heat of the afternoon. Numerous storms are expected area-wide with many of the storms becoming strong enough to produce damaging wind gusts, torrential rains and, perhaps, some large hail.
