10:00 pm Update: Rain is out of the state now! There could still be a random shower or snow flurry tonight along the lakeshore in Lake & Ashtabula Counties. Temperatures have fallen a good 20 degrees from our early morning highs. We'll see temperatures falling into the lower and middle 30s by 11pm in most spots. Grab the warm coats!

Low temperatures tonight will drop down into the upper 20s to near 30 degrees. Most of tonight should be dry. However, just before sunrise, a weak trough of low pressure is expected to drop across Lake Erie. This will likely stir up an west to east oriented band of Lake effect rain & snow from Northern Lorain County, east through Cuyahoga, Lake, & Geauga Counties thru Tuesdays rush hour. Snow totals will be light maybe a tenth of an inch or so on grassy surfaces. Still, the precipitation could slow down your morning commute. Skies should become mostly sunny during the afternoon. Highs will only creep up into the upper 30s. Brrr!

We should be cool and dry both Wednesday and Thursday as high temperatures move back up into the lower and middle 40s.

Update: Rain is racing east, with some snow flakes in west central Ohio. Winds are gusting into the 30s, and temps are falling into the 30s in Toledo.

Update: Temps will begin falling through the afternoon. From the upper 50s into the low 40s by dinner.

Update: Line of heavy rain and gusty winds moving through central Cuyahoga and western Medina. Winds could gust to near 40mph, power outages are possible.

Update: Rain is approaching a line from downtown Cleveland along I-77 south to Akron. This line will continue east through the rest of the morning. Expect winds gusting to 35mph until early afternoon.

Update: Still in the 60s this morning as winds gust as high as 32mph.

The warm weekend weather is now gone. Strong winds will continue through much of the day with gusts as high as 45 mph. Along with the wind, I'm tracking rain pushing through Ohio. I don't anticipate any thunder with this but steady rain will spread east through the day today and linger through much of the evening. Plan for a wet day teaming up with much cooler air surging in.

Temperatures this morning are in the lower 60s, as the morning rolls on we will drop into the 50s and eventually 40s by sunset. Despite the dry warm start to the day, be sure to pack the coats and umbrellas for the 2nd half of the day. Temps early Tuesday will be in the lower 30s and upper 20s giving us a good shot as a few flurries to start the day.

As the rain pushes east and out of Ohio, winds will shift to the west. This will spark a lake effect rain/snow band or two early Tuesday morning. Areas in the primary snowbelts of Lake, Geauga and Ashtabula Counties should plan for minor accumulations as you head out Tuesday morning. The active weather will shut down after sunrise Tuesday as we level off in the 40s the rest of the work-week.
