CLEVELAND - Follow Trent on Facebook and Twitter for forecast updates. Also, please share your snow totals!

Evening Update: Expect snow showers to linger along the lakeshore counties overnight with accumulations in the 1-3" range. Be cautious driving around this evening, treated roads will be just fine but parking lots and sidewalks will get slick! Be sure to clean the snow off of all of your windows before driving and plan ahead for stops.

4:54 pm Update: Light snow falling across most of northern Ohio right now and will continue into the evening. Any accumulations should stay less than an inch for most of NE OH. Most. Areas east of Cleveland in the snow belt will see an increase in intensity and lake effect snow should linger into early Sunday morning. The highs accumulation amounts could reach as high as 3" by sunrise Sunday.

Afternoon Update: Temperatures are holding in the lower 30s as the snow has pushed east. Can't rule out a few flurries the rest of the day area-wide but the best chance still hold in the snow bet east of Cleveland. Winds will shift more northwesterly and give us the potential to see another couple inches of Lake Effect Snow overnight.

Low pressure moving along the Ohio River is spreading steady, light snow across Northeast Ohio. Expect 1-3" of accumulation through early afternoon. Isolated areas may receive 4".

Snow will taper by noon as low pressure slides into western Pennsylvania. Scattered light snow showers will continue, especially near the lake through this evening.

Lake effect snow showers will fire up overnight as colder air spills across the Great Lakes. An additional 1-2" of snow is possible, mainly east of Cleveland in the Snowbelt. Lows will drop to the mid-20s.

Aside from passing snow showers early Sunday, most of the day will be cloudy and dry. Highs will hover near 30 degrees all weekend.

A weak cold front will cross Lake Erie on New Year's Eve. A chance of snow is in the forecast after sunset through New Year's Day. Accumulations will be light.

Much colder air drops overhead Wednesday through Friday. Look for highs in the low 20s and lows in the low teens. We could even see some single digits if the sky partially clears at night!
