WIND ADVISORY for Tuscarawas, Coshocton, Carroll and Columbiana Counties Friday 10 am to 7pm. Wind gusts up to 50 mph possible during the afternoon.

11:04 pm Update: Windy conditions likely Friday afternoon. A strong cold front and low pressure will slide east across Lake Erie on Friday. Winds will tighten up near the low and cold front. I expect winds to gust to between 30 and 45 miles per hour, with an occasional gust above 50 mph. A wind Advisory will likely be issued for all or parts of the viewing area by the beginning of Good Morning Cleveland @ 4:30 am. Warm front near the Ohio River will continue to move slowly north tonight. Rain showers will spread into the region this evening ahead of the front. Lots of rain returns showing up on the Power of 5 Doppler Radar network now, but a quick look at the official observations, shows none of this precipitation is reaching the ground... yet. Rain is likely overnight all across Northern Ohio. A few wet snowflakes could mix in across the north. Thunder is also possible farther south, closer to the warm front. Temperatures will hover in the 40s. Lows tonight will hang near 40 degrees.

Noon Update: This morning's fog has turned into this afternoon's overcast sky. Temps are struggling to warm much due to the lack of sunshine north. South of I-80 has seen a few peeks of sunshine so temps are a bit warmer. Some area readings are as warm as 50 degrees in New Philly and as low as 34 degrees in Ashtabula.

9:00 a.m. Update: The Dense Fog Advisory for Northeast Ohio has expired, but patchy dense fog is still possible over the next hour. Mansfield and Youngstown are currently reporting low visibility. However, Wooster and Dover are reporting sunshine.

Most of the day will be dry, before rain arrives after the evening rush. I can't rule out a rumble of thunder overnight as light to moderate rain passes through Northeast Ohio. Expect a changeover from rain to snow around lunchtime Friday.
__________
Rain and snow fell overnight, but we're in the clear this morning. Watch out for patchy dense fog as the sky clears. Fog could reduce visibility to less than 1/4 mile in many areas. Temperatures are near freezing.

It will be partly sunny this afternoon as low pressure tracks across Illinois and Indiana. As the low approaches Ohio, expect an increasing chance of rain after 7 p.m. Temperatures will be mild, in the mid-to-upper 40s. Some of our southern counties will hit 50+ degrees.

Rain is likely tonight through early Friday as low pressure moves into Canada. A cold front will follow late Friday morning, changing rain showers to snow showers. Expect light accumulation on the grass during the afternoon.

Much colder air will filter in for the weekend. Lake effect snow showers are likely Saturday with highs near freezing. High pressure builds in Sunday, ending the treat for snow. Despite sunshine, temperatures will still hover in the upper 30s.

More mild weather is in store next week. We're watching a potential storm that would bring heavy rain and snow to the Midwest next Wednesday.
