CLEVELAND - 10:00 pm Update: Weak cold front is moving south through the area now. Temperatures are dropping rapidly back into the 30's behind the front. Scattered rain showers are also moving in. But as the temperatures cool off, we'll see a changeover to snow showers by 10 or 11pm. Accumulations tonight will stay below 1 inch.

4:37 pm Update: Filtered sunshine and mild southerly breezes have helped warm temperatures into the lower 50s. This won't last long as a the rain and colder air are just a few miles north of the Lake Erie shoreline. Scattered rain showers will drop southeast into the Lakeshore counties by 5 pm. Showers will spread southward through the evening hours. Once the rain begins, temperatures should quickly fall back into the lower 40s by 7 or 8 pm. Where the rain holds off, temperatures should stay up closer to 50 degrees through the evening.

We're seeing some sunshine throughout north central Ohio, and temps are rising to near 50. Expect a light shower chance later this afternoon, especially across the west.

Update: Our warm front has pushed most, if not all, of the rain north of us and over the lake for now. This evening, this line will shift back to the south and over land, we all have a shot at some like rain/snow overnight. In the meantime, temps are in the middle 40s and will warm into the upper 40s this afternoon.

9:30 a.m. Update: The narrow band of rain and snow we've been tracking is moving across Lake Erie. The best chance for precipitation today is right along the lake. Akron and areas south will stay dry until tonight.

Rain is still on track Thursday evening through early Friday. All of Northeast Ohio (along with the rest of the state) will get light to moderate rain.
____________
Although surface temperatures will be in the 40s this afternoon, the air just above the surface is cold enough to support a rain/snow mix. As a warm front approaches Northeast Ohio, expect a chance of rain and snow showers before lunchtime near the lake.

The warm front will stall in Central Ohio overnight, keeping a chance of rain and snow in the forecast. Overnight lows will fall to the mid-30s.

I can't rule out isolated rain/snow showers early Thursday under mostly cloudy skies. Otherwise, look for mainly dry weather until a cold front approaches Thursday evening. Highs will hit the upper 40s.

Rain is likely Thursday evening through early Friday. There may even be rumbles of thunder in southern Ohio with stronger storms possible in Kentucky.

Temperatures will fall all day Friday behind the front. Scattered snow showers will follow Friday night and Saturday.

Weekend temperatures will drop to the 30s with lows in the 20s.
