CLEVELAND - 10:30 pm update:  Skies have cleared nicely now. Temperatures are already  in the middle 20s. Clear skies likely tonight with temperatures between 20 & 25 degrees. A few spots could even drop into the upper teens tonight.

9:00 pm Update: Snow showers and flurries are moving east quickly now. Clearing is evident on the satellite maps already working in from the north from Toledo to Cleveland to Ashtabula. This clearing trend will continue this evening, leaving us with mainly clear skies by midnight. Lows tonight will drop into the lower 20s.

Thursday should be dry and quiet as we await the arrival of the next arctic cold front that will arrive Friday. Expect bright sunshine through the day Thursday, with highs in the 30s.

The cold front will move in on Friday afternoon. I expect some steady light snow with the front during the afternoon and evening. Highs will climb to near 40 before the front arrives.

Friday night and Saturday, we will likely see some lake effect snow. Several inches are possible in the favored snowbelt regions, where squalls persist. Snow advisories might be need for the snow.

Saturday, winds will shift to the west. Any squalls will shift east up the lakeshore as well. Highs on Saturday will only reach into the 20s.

Light snow is continuing across the area, mainly through Medina and Wayne counties. Expect accumulations to be on the light side. Temps will run in the low 30s.

Low pressure over West Virginia will produce scattered light snow this morning, mainly for Central and Southern Ohio. Some of the light snow may clip our southern counties south of Akron through 2 p.m.

I expect counties along and south of Rt. 30, including Stark, Wayne, Holmes, Tuscarawas and southern Ashland and Richland to pick up 1 to 2 inches of snow. Snow will end by 2 p.m. as low pressure moves east.

Expect slow clearing later this afternoon into the evening. High temperatures will hover near freezing.

Overnight temperatures will drop to the mid-20s under clear skies. As high pressure builds over the Great Lakes Thursday, expect full sunshine.

High pressure shifts east Friday, warming temperatures to the upper 30s. A cold front quickly approaches Friday night, with a shot of snow and much colder air for the weekend.

Temperatures will drop to the mid 20s for highs Saturday and Sunday with lows in the teens.
