CLEVELAND - I'm Meteorologist Jason Nicholas continuing our weather web coverage today.  For more weather updates, follow me on Twitter @ JasonNweather and also on Facebook here.

We'll see mainly cloudy skies Sunday night with lows dropping into the middle 20s.

2012 will end with snow, and 2013 will start with snow, especially south.

For Monday, New Year's Eve, light snow will move into the area, mainly in the later afternoon. The light snow will also last into the evening and overnight. It doesn't look like we'll see much in the way of accumulations at this point with most spots only seeing a trace up to an inch or two, but travel could be slick Monday night. Some spots could see up to 3 inches of snow by Tuesday morning.

Latest computer models bring in a half inch up to 2 1/2 inches of snow by New Year's Day.

-------------------

We're expecting a high of 29 degrees Sunday with a few flurries. ODOT and Cleveland plow crews are still out treating the roads and keeping them clear.

High pressure moving into Ohio will clear our sky out for a brief time Sunday. Other than lake effect snow in the primary snow belt east of Cleveland, most of Ohio will stay snowflake free. Areas in the snow belt could see another 2-4" throughout Sunday but only on a very localized scale.

Elsewhere, The sunshine will make brief appearances making for a nice Winter afternoon. Temps will stay cold with highs only in the upper 20s but there won't be much wind (Unless you flying down a hill on a sled!) so it won't feel too bitterly cold.

We stay mainly dry through Monday afternoon before out next chance for snow arrives. Plan on a cold New year's Eve with snow possible late Monday night and into Tuesday. We'll kick on the New Year with afternoon temps in the 20s for the first few days and morning lows in the teens.

We told you about this quick start to winter a few month ago and it looks like we were right. Stay safe on the roads and dress for the weather. Don't forget to check on your outdoor pets also.
