8:00 pm Update: The cold air has returned. Temperatures will hang closer to normal this week as cold air pushes in from the west. Lows tonight will drop into the lower 20s on a northeasterly breeze. Drier air will try and clear out our skies from west to east as well.
Skies will be mostly sunny across the area on Tuesday. The exception may be along and south of US Route 30 where high clouds from the storm system in the Tennessee Valley could creep in. Temperatures will require that you wear a coat. We'll see highs between 30 & 34 degrees.
Slightly milder air will creep in during the rest of the week. Wednesday's highs should reach into the middle 30s. An isolated flurry is possible on Wednesday as a weak trough swings by. The rest of the week should be dry. Friday's highs will stay near 30 degrees. Then, on Saturday, temperatures will climb up to near 40.
A strong cold front arrives on Sunday. This looks to be the arctic blast that we have been anticipating for the last few weeks. Highs Sunday will remain in the 20s. Monday will struggle to reach 20 degrees.
Clouds are hanging tough this afternoon with temps only in the upper 20s to near 30. We'll see slow clearing later today and tonight with lows dropping into the 20s.
After highs in the 60s this weekend, we're back to reality today!
It will be cloudy this morning with temperatures in the upper 20s and low 30s. Highs won't climb much this afternoon, even with breaks of sunshine. Afternoon temperatures will hover near 33 degrees.
The sky will gradually clear tonight with lows in the low 20s.
Sunshine is in store Tuesday as high pressure builds in from the west. However, temperatures will struggle to reach freezing. Clouds gradually return Wednesday ahead of a weak cold front.
The front will trigger a chance of light snow showers late Wednesday through early Thursday.
Saturday may be the warmest day of the week with highs in the upper 30s. Another cold front arrives Sunday with a chance of light snow and much cooler weather in the 20s for early next week.
