CLEVELAND - Wind Advisory in effect for all of northern Ohio from 10pm this evening until 7am. Winds could gust as high as 50mph overnight as a strong cold front rushes through Ohio.
Overnight Update: Winds will pick up overnight tonight as our arctic air rushes in. Expect gusts as high as 50mph before sunrise Sunday. Temperatures will also drop drastically. 40s will quickly turn into 20s, plan for the cold to stick around all day Sunday and into the work-week. With the initial blast of cold, I can't rule out a few scattered light snow showers with a light dusting possible Sunday morning. Throughout Sunday the weather scenario will set up for lake effect snow. After sunset Sunday we'll likely see a few bands set up in the snow belt.
7:10 pm Update: Winds have relaxed from earlier today but we're still breezy. Gusts are in the 20s and will stay there until closer to midnight. After midnight we'll likely have winds gusting to 50mph, that's enough to blow branches around and other small objects.
5:31 pm Update: Winds are still gusting to 35mph this evening and will only get stronger overnight. Isolated areas could see gusts reach as high as 50mph before sunrise Sunday. Along with the wind, we can't rule out a few isolated rain drops before midnight. There won't be enough moisture to have a big impact on your evening plans though.
In addition to the wind and isolated rain drops, temperatures will plummet. We'll hold on to the 40s through midnight before dropping through the 30s and into the 20s before sunrise Sunday. Plan on waking up to temps in the 20s with a few light snow showers. Any accumulations will stay minor until later Sunday when the Lake Effect Snow Machine turns on.
Areas southeast of Lake Erie will need to pay attention to the forecast Sunday afternoon through Wednesday morning. Plan on a multiple day event with the highest accumulations reaching as high as 1 foot.
Afternoon Update: Southwest winds will continue to gust as high as 30-35mph through sunset. Be sure to keep both hands on the wheel as you are out and about today but don't let the wind keep you inside, It's much warmer than is has been lately. Temperatures are warming nicely today, we'll see highs in the upper 40s and lower 50s.
Warmer air moving in for our Saturday along with more a breezy southwest wind. Winds will be blowing about 15-25mph today which is definitely noticeable. The good news about any southwest wind is that temperatures warm quickly. Temperatures will top out in the middle 40s this afternoon but only briefly!
Tonight an arctic cold front blasts through Ohio bring some of the coldest air we've seen in years. Throughout Sunday, temperatures will be dropping through the 20s and into the teens by sunset! Snow is also possible but only light snow and mainly in our counties that border Lake Erie.
As far as the work-week goes, plan on the cold to stick around. Temps will bottom out in the single digits to start the week with highs holding in the teens! This cold air rushing over a relatively warm Lake Erie will spark a few Lake Effect snow bands also. Most of Ohio will escape the snow but isolated areas, where bands persist could get several inches of snow before the end of the week. Make you preparations now while it's still sunny and warm.

There was a mix of snow and slush on the roadways Friday as snowstorms from the south pushed their way into Northeast Ohio.
Parts of southwest and central Ohio are seeing snow as more wintry weather hits areas that earlier got a mix of rain and sleet.
