CLEVELAND - 7:48 pm Update: Only a few isolated thundershowers left now in Mahoning, Tuscarawas, Carroll, Columbiana Counties. Severe threat is done for the night. Another round of strong storms possible by early afternoon Thursday. Storm Prediction Center has placed Northern Ohio in the SLIGHT RISK area for severe storms. Damaging winds would be the main threat with some large hail possible.
In the meantime, there is still the chance for a rogue thundershower tonight. Skies will remain partly to mostly cloudy with lows in the upper 60s and lower 70s.
5:30 pm Update: Storms pulling away rapidly now. Only warning left is for Tuscarawas County. That will expire at 6pm. Dry weather should be the rule through out the evening with temperaturees in the 80s.
4:23 pm Update: Severe weather WATCHES are still in effect for all counties along the US Rt 30 corridor and points south through 9pm. But, the threat for bad storms is rapidly ending there as well. WATCH will likely be canceled by 6pm for our viewing area.

A cold front is lingering over Lake Erie this morning. The front will slowly sag south this afternoon, producing scattered thunderstorms. Some of the storms could be strong to severe with large hail and damaging wind gusts.
The best chance of rain is in counties away from the lake, particularly southwest of Cleveland. The storms will be scattered after 2 p.m. Unfortunately, this does not look like a widespread rain event, so some areas may stay completely dry today. Expect highs near 90 degrees.
Isolated thunderstorms are possible overnight. Lows will fall to 70 degrees under partly cloudy skies.
Computer models are developing a thunderstorm complex over the Midwest Thursday afternoon and projecting it to reach Northeast Ohio Thursday evening. If this is the case, we might get much needed rain again late Thursday. We'll be watching this forecast closely!

High pressure sticks around Friday through Sunday, keeping the sky mostly sunny. Another cold front arrives late Monday or early Tuesday next week.
