CLEVELAND - 11:00 PM UPDATE: High pressure will build into the region and hang around through tuesday. Bright sunshine will be the rule Tuesday with highs in the middle and upper 30's. Seasonable for this time of year.
10:28 PM UPDATE: Only a few clouds left across Northern Ohio now. Temperatures have already dropped into the middle 20s. They'll drop a few more clicks before morning. Mainly clear skies will be the rule overnight.
9:04 PM UPDATE: Skies are beginning to clear across the region now.
8:22 PM UPDATE: Flood warnings have been extended for all Northern Ohio Counties until NOON on Tuesday. Major rivers will continue to run high tonight. Small streams and creeks will also remain high. Some of them will even be out of their banks near their mouths. Several feet of water is still being reported on several area roads.

5:56 PM UPDATE: Local Law enforcement continue to report high water, closed roads and evacuations in progress around the area. A few roadways have also been washed away. Hardest hit areas now appear to be Tiffin, Milan, Norwalk, Independence, & Bucyrus. Additional rain is not expected tonight. However, rivers will continue to rise as runoff moves downstream. Do NOT drive over flooded roadways. Turn around, Don't drown!
5:33 PM UPDATE: Cloudy skies throughout the region now. No reports of any light snow as of yet. I do expect a few flurries this evening, mainly east of Cleveland. As cold air flows in across the open Lake Erie.
3:56 PM UPDATE: Waters are slowly receding this afternoon. Flood warnings will remain in effect until 9pm for all counites. After that, Warnings will likely be issued for specific larger rivers around the area. Luckily only a few snow flurries are expected this evening...no more heavy rain!

Several rivers are experiencing MAJOR flooding Monday afternoon. The good news is the rain has ended and drier air is flowing into the air. The dry air will be around through Thursday. 11:00 a.m. Update: The Flash Flood Warning for Stark and Holmes County has expired.
10:30 a.m. Update: A Flash Flood Warning has been issued for the Gates Mills Dam on the Chagrin River in Cuyahoga and Lake County until 1 p.m. Heavy rain caused a complete dam failure near the towns of Mayfield and Gates Mills in Cuyahoga County. Water will flow downstream to Willoughby, Willoughby Hills, and Eastlake. The Chagrin River is already experiencing major flooding.
10:00 a.m. Update: The Flash Flood Warning for Ashland, Richland, and Wayne County has expired. A Flash Flood Warning continues for Stark and Holmes County until 11:00 a.m.
9:00 a.m. Update: For a complete list of river Flood Warnings and expiration times, please scroll to the bottom of this blog. 1 to 3 inches of rain fell overnight, and most of the snowpack has melted. Flooding will be a major concern over the next several days.
7:30 a.m. Update: The last bit of light rain is winding down in Lake, Geauga, Portage, and Ashtabula County. Temperatures are dropping from the 50s to the upper 30s. Gusts as high as 37 mph have been recorded in Cuyahoga County. Isolated showers and snow showers are possible this afternoon.
6:30 a.m. Update: Temperatures are currently in the 30s along the lake, while Akron is at 52 degrees. Temperatures will continue to fall areawide, as gusty winds bring in colder air from the north. Moderate rain continues in Wayne, Holmes, and Stark County. Light rain is falling elsewhere.
The severe threat is over for most of our area. Tuscarawas County is under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning until 6:45 a.m.
5:30 a.m. Update: Rain will decrease in our northernmost counties over the next 1.5 hours. Heavy rain is still falling in Holmes and Tuscarawas County. Isolated showers and snow showers are possible this afternoon.
