PARMA HEIGHTS, Ohio - A portion of Pearl Road has reopened after a woman was struck and killed by a car Friday morning.
The incident happened at about 6:40 a.m. near Pearl Road and Parma Park in Parma Heights.
Parma Heights Police Chief Daniel Teel said the victim was a 77-year-old woman. He said she was apparently struck while crossing Pearl Road. Emergency crews rushed the woman to Parma Community Hospital, where she died.
A man who called 911 to report the incident said it appeared she was still breathing, and the driver of the car was still as the scene.

Teel said the driver of the Toyota Camry that struck the woman, a 61-year-old man who was on his way to work, is being interviewed. Alcohol and drugs are not suspected to be factors at this time.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed the woman's name as Marion Moseley.
The Cleveland Clinic said Moseley worked as a spokeswoman for the Cleveland Clinic for more than 35 years. She recently retired, but continued to work in the hospital's marketing department part time.
"We are deeply saddened by the loss of our long-time friend and employee, Marion Mosley, who worked at the Cleveland Clinic for over 35 years in the media relations office. She had an incredible sense of humor, a vibrant personality and a passion for working with the local media. She has touched so many lives here and in the community. Our heartfelt sympathy is with her family and she will be missed," said the Cleveland Clinic in a statement.
Pearl Road southbound between West 130th and York Road was partially closed for several hours. Crews have since reopened the road.
No other details about the incident have been released.
