MILAN TOWNSHIP, Ohio - The Milan Post of the Ohio Highway State Patrol is investigating a serious injury crash on the Ohio Turnpike near mile post 120 in Milan Township that involved a motorcycle.
Around 11:57 a.m. Friday, 64-year-old James Allen Metzinger was driving his motorcycle eastbound when he tried to switch lanes and sideswiped 25-year-old Ryan Knaack, who was driving a Dodge Caravan.
Metzinger lost control and was thrown off of his motorcycle as he slid off the road.
Metzinger, who was not wearing a helmet, suffered serious injuries and was flown from the scene by Life Flight to Toledo St. Vincent hospital.
Knaack was not injured.
The investigation of the crash is not complete, however alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
