NORTON, Ohio - An intersection in Summit County is expected to be shut down for hours after a crash involving a semi truck and a motorcycle that killed an Akron man.

The incident happened at about 1:26 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of State Route 21 and State Route 261 in Norton.

Norton police said the roads affected by the closures include the SR 21 north ramp to SR 261, and SR 261 between SR 21 and Easton Road.

Officers estimate the roads will be closed for several hours, but would not offer any details about the crash.

The Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office said 27-year-old Kent Burns was on the motorcycle and died at the hospital as a result of the crash.

Drivers are urged to avoid the area until further notice.
