CONCORD TOWNSHIP, Ohio - I-90 westbound in Lake County is back open after multiple crashes forced emergency officials to close the highway at Route 44 in Concord Township Wednesday morning.
The Ohio Department of Transportation said the Ohio State Highway Patrol closed the highway at the State Route 44 exit around 10 a.m. after icy conditions caused several crashes.
Initially, only the westbound lanes were closed at Rt. 44 due to a crash at State Route 306 in Willoughby, but then other crashes caused crews to also close the eastbound lanes so workers could tow vehicles from the area.
The eastbound lanes opened at 3:15 p.m.

Westbound drivers were being diverted onto Rt. 44 north to Rt. 2 west, Rt. 91 southbound to I-90.
No serious injuries were reported.
