BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, Ohio - UPDATE: The ramp reopened shortly before 11 p.m. Tuesday
The 176 southbound ramp to I-480 east in Brooklyn Heights was closed after a semi flipped late Tuesday morning.
Clean-up crews at the scene said the truck was carrying "a slightly caustic industrial cleaning solution." HAZMAT officials aren't concerned with the solution being breathed in, but are making sure it doesn't make its way into the sewer system.
The accident happened shortly after 11 a.m. The semi driver is OK, suffering just a "bump" on his head.
The ramp will remain closed for several hours, impacting your rush hour commute.
ODOT suggests these alternates for drivers: Rt. 176 southbound to Brookpark Road east to I-480 eastbound, or I-480 westbound to State Road to I-480 west.
