CLEVELAND - Several major Cleveland roadways will be closed on Thursday for President Barack Obama’s campaign stop.
The President will appear on the tarmac at Burke Lakefront Airport to end his two-day “America Forward!” tour, the campaign said. Doors open for the event at 5:30 p.m.
The Cleveland Police Department said from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. the following areas will be closed:
- Route 2 eastbound at East 9th Street
- Route 2 westbound at the Interstate 90 split (Dead Man’s Curve)
- I-90 eastbound at the on ramp to Route 2 westbound
- West 3rd Street on ramp to Route 2
Cleveland police said there will be local access only to North Marginal Road, East 9th Street to East 55th Street from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Traffic on Route 2 eastbound will be diverted to Superior Avenue then East 26th Street. Officers will be in the area to direct drivers.
