BARBERTON, Ohio - Barberton police are telling drivers to avoid the Wooster Road and W. 31st Street intersection, commonly known as Johnson's Corners, after a car crash caused a traffic signal outage.
A single-vehicle accident destroyed the control box for the traffic signal at the intersection Wednesday morning.
Barberton Police Chief Vincent Morber has asked drivers to avoid the intersection for the next several days.
He said significant repairs are necessary and it could take up to a couple of weeks for traffic signal functionality to be fully restored.
Temporary stop signs have been placed at the intersection. When a traffic signal is out, the intersection should be treated as a four-way stop.
