CLEVELAND - Construction on a section of Cedar Avenue starts Tuesday and will last for more than a year.

The work will be on the westbound lanes on a less-than-a-mile segment between East 89th Street and MLK Jr. Drive, the city of Cleveland said. There will be no on-street parking and traffic will be detoured to Carnegie Avenue.

Phase 2 of the Cedar Avenue rehabilitation project involves new sidewalks, curbs and traffic signals, as well as resurfacing the street.

The city said this traffic advisory will remain through June 2014.
