LAKEWOOD,Ohio - An early morning crash in Lakewood sent a man to the hospital after he flipped his car, hit a pole and landed on a tree.
The accident happened just after 1:30 a.m. on Clifton Boulevard, at Andrews Avenue. When police got to the scene they found a male inside the car alert and were able to get him out of the passenger side of the car.
Police tell NewsChannel5 that the man was driving eastbound on Clifton when he went off the side of the street and struck a pole, cutting it in half. The car then rolled onto its roof and struck a tree.
Power had to be cut to the area so the First Energy crews could replace the pole.
