CLEVELAND - Ohio Department of Transportation Director Jerry Wray is urging northeast Ohio leaders to join him in supporting a Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency (NOACA) resolution, which expresses opposition to funding-related delays in the construction of Cleveland’s Innerbelt Bridge.
In addition, NOACA is calling for the state to find a solution to the problem.
Last Friday, ODOT leaders joined Congressmen Steven LaTourette and Dennis Kucinich, and Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson to announce a possible solution to get the second part of the Innerbelt Bridge project back on track.
“I couldn’t agree more with the need to accelerate the Innerbelt Bridge project, and other important projects around the state, and to find the money to pay for them," Wray said.
"NOACA is rightly concerned that this project move forward and the $50 million of uncommitted cash they have sitting in the bank would be a great place to start, but in the event they don’t want to help, I look forward to working with them to find other solutions," Wray added.
