Ramirez agreed to a one-year deal worth five-hundred thousand dollars. The former Indians slugger who has hit more then 500 career home runs is still obligated to serve his 50 game suspension for violating baseball's drug policy a second time . Ramirez will be eligible to play on his 40th birthday at the end of may barring any rain outs.
The A's are scheduled to play at Progressive Field at the end of August. This will be Manny's 20th year in the majors.
