GLENDALE, Ariz. - John Coulter was enjoying Saturday's Arizona Cardinals' preseason game against the Dallas Cowboys when he asked his son to hold his beer while he snapped a picture.
A few seconds later, two undercover officers from the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control approached him.
They informed Coulter, who thought it was a joke, that he could be arrested for providing alcohol to an underage person, according to the USA Today report .
Fortunately, Coulter did not get arrested, but he and his son were escorted out of the University of Phoenix Stadium.
According to officials, Coulter was lucky as he could have faced a maximum of six months in jail, a $2,500 fine and three years probation for the Class 1 misdemeanor.
Despite this, Coulter told USA Today that he was the victim of "abuse and overzealous pursuing of the situation."
